Strategy 2017 – From Outrage to Action
The 2017 ICU conference was held in Elmhurst, IL on August 18 & 19. The themes of the 2017 conference were Candidate Training, Election Integrity and Coalition-building. On Friday afternoon, a well-attended candidate training segment got the conference off to a positive start. On Saturday, attendees heard from morning guest speakers Catherine Engelbrecht of True the Vote; Tim Huelskamp of The Heartland Institute and others. After lunch, a “lightning round” of several speakers kept the attendees interested and engaged. The conference wrapped up Saturday evening with a banquet and guest speaker Reverend CL Bryant, who sent everyone home energized and motivated with his inspiring message.
Note: In 2017 we were known as “Illinois Conservatives United (ICU)”. In 2018 our name was officially changed to “Illinois Conservative Union”, reviving the name of a previous conservative organization which was active in Illinois in the “70’s and early ’80’s. A history of ICU will be posted in the future on this website.
