Illinois Conservative Union was pleased to host United We Stand 2021, the 5th Annual Illinois Conservative Grassroots Activist Conference. It was a great event that offered REAL SOLUTIONS and we are so thankful for all the Patriots who joined us!
The action sessions included:
- Laura Zorc, Director of Education Reform for FreedomWorks BEST program (Building Education for Students Together) covered how to push back against local board overreach and address concerns about mandates being imposed on children.
- Sheri Zalar introduced a new app, AnyStance, from developer Vocal Company LLC. This app helps concerned Illinois citizens to be informed when critical legislation is coming up in Springfield and enables activists to take action quickly and effectively.
- Linda Memmesheimer of Think Wholistic did a great presentation on how we can leverage heavy-handed government tactics regarding our health to WIN OVER natural health advocates who are questioning their loyalty to the Left.
- We learned how to effectively hold government accountable using the FOIA (Freedom of Information Act). An added bonus was having Kirk Allen of American Watchdogs/Edgar County Watchdogs there to add his expertise in FOIA to the conversation!
- The ICU Election Integrity Seminar, Guardians of the Vote was presented. This comprehensive seminar is educating and inspiring activists across the state.
- The ICU “Unsung Hero” Award was presented to Kirk Allen and John Kraft of American Watchdogs/Edgar County Watchdogs in recognition of the great work they have done in Illinois. It’s exciting that they are training others both here in our state and now across the country.
- In addition to Edgar County Watchdogs, we also heard updates from Illinois Family Institute/Illinois Family Action, Moms for America, Breakthrough Ideas – all organizations which ICU works with to amplify impact on important issues we have in common.
